დებატები უკეთესი განათლებისთვის/Debates for a better education

I was selected as a Debate teacher from Georgia among other teachers by Georgian Institute for debate and education. After the training I got permission to open a Debate Club at the LEPL Named after Revaz Mumladze Zestaponi N7 Public School. Nowadays eleven students are enrolled here. The club was opened in September 2020.

I teach  Karl Popper Debate that  focuses on relevant and often deeply divisive propositions, emphasizing the development of critical thinking skills, and tolerance for differing viewpoints. To facilitate these goals, debaters work together in teams of three, and must research both sides of each issue.

The aim of Karl Popper Debate is:
  • Focus on the core elements of controversial issues.
  • Emphasize tolerance for multiple points of view.
  • Emphasize the development of analytical thinking skills.
  • Instill in participants an appreciation for the value of teamwork.
  • Provide students with the opportunity to debate many kinds of resolutions.

I was certified as a debate teacher and get my certificate online!

The photos are taken from online trainings, when selected teachers from all over Georgia learn how to run a debate club at school. We also trained on the methods and program to be used in the Debate Club and study how to create our own curriculum for teaching debate. We also were trained on how to become referees during debates.

The photos below were taken at the Debate Club where I teach Karl Popper Debate. The photos are published with the consent of students and their parents.
